Jersey Festival: Blues 1 v Plymouth 1
Today, the Orpington and Bromey U11 Blues squad faced off against the Plymouth U11 district team. Ending 1-1 at the final whistle, this match consisted of exciting attacks and pass and move football.
In the first half, the match was very tight. With a very high press, Plymouth were quick to close down any of the Bromley players on the ball. Early in the match, Plymouth, who were creating many dangerous chances, came close to scoring. Although, the Bromley defence refused to concede and the half ended 0-0. Ivo particularly strong in the middle of defence*.
At the beginning of the second half, Bromley started well. Following a quick first time pass from Fin*, Alfie found the net with a clinical finish. In the time following, the match became tougher: there were strong tackles and good through balls. As the tension grew, Plymouth snatched an equaliser from a freekick. In the remaining minutes of the game, both teams were eager to find a winning goal through counter attacks, perfect passes and superb shots. But, as the whistle blew, the game ended 1-1.
* Added by the manager, as Fin and Ivo are far too modest to mention themselves in this report!
